Brookshire Park Bird Walks

Monthly Bird & Nature Walk

8 a.m. to 10 a.m.

the 1st Saturday of every month(rain or shine)

HCAS member Guy McGrane leads the monthly Brookshire Park Bird & Nature Walks which are free and open to the public. There are delightful things to discover in the park no matter what the time of year or the weather.  The focus is on birds, but there are also opportunities to enjoy the flora and other wildlife in the park.

Just meet at the picnic shelter / restrooms in the main parking lot at 8:00 a.m. on the first Saturday of each month.  Guy leads the group down the greenway, looping around the sparrow fields on the way back, for a total distance of about a mile.

The park is on the New River about two miles east of downtown Boone, on the left just before the river crosses under the highway 421 bridge.

Beginning birders or those who are a little rusty are welcomed, and there are extra pairs of binoculars for anyone who might need them.
