The Yadkin River Greenway is another example of how citizens, governments and landowners can come together to protect greenspace.  This greenway is 7.2 miles long and runs from W. Kerr Scott Dam in Wilkesboro, along the Yadkin River to Smoot Park in North Wilkesboro.

The Yadkin River Greenway is part of the North Carolina Birding Trail.

Reported species are Yellow-billed Cuckoo, Yellow-throated Vireo, Northern Parula, and the Baltimore Oriole.  A complete list of bird can be found on the NC Birding Trail website.
